Message in a Bottle : Shmuel of Vermont
I received this message in a bottle from the sea of mail...Inside are some pistachio nuts with faces drawn on them...what a ride they must have experienced. (psst...Shmuel...I received the books before the bottle). At first...I thought the postman threw away his water bottle in my mailbox...teehee.
Label : Oke Fish Tale : Lisa Lentini
I received this from Lisa Lentini of New Jersey. What a sweet caffeinated fish!
Monsieur Larousse les a pris au filet! : JNP
JNP : "This one to protect the other..." Hmmm...I'm sorry... who is Monsieur Larousse? Perhaps the builder of the castle where boys are fishing....I love the catalog diagram of fish above.
School of Green Fish Beware : Shmuel of Vermont
Eek...Aqua Man....
Label: Nicole Eippers: " What the Hell Is This?!?"
Nicole Eippers from Melin, Belgium sent me this great collage. The angry blue fish seems to be asking what is this plate of food, he sees before him. I'm not sure I know, at the bottom of the dish the small white morsels look to be scallops. I love photo food images; I have several old recipe books from the 1940s where the photos of the food are very strange and mysterious...and sometimes un-appetizing. The diagram of how to open the "Thon" fish can/tin is great, too; some of the seemingly most understandable ways of opening or using items are unnecessarily explained with instructions and diagrams (much to my delight.)
Small Mylar Fish : Denis Charmot
This drawing with collaged silver Mylar fish was sent to me in December 2006. Sorry for the delay in posting to A Fishy Requisite but I am now just recovering from the busy holiday season. I didn't notice right away the fish are swimming between two women's faces in profile. Thank you Denis. I find the high contrast black and white drawing very enjoyable and the silvery fish are a wonderful surprise addition to the composition.
